I feel like my blog has been reasonably benign with simplistic updates. I haven't tried to get too deep or overly personal anyway right? If you are wondering why I have restricted access, it is because when you google my name (more importantly my husband's name) you easily get right here. That would be fine normally but my husband works for a hospital that thinks it's the CIA. Someone got wind that I posted his hours over-worked and projected a general unhappiness with Michigan and life as a resident's wife. Well, so. It's true I don't like it here. And he works more than the legal maximum by far. I won't lie about it just because they are trying to recruit new applicants. But I mustn't create unnecessary drama for Keith at work either. So I am officially, intentionally limiting my audience (if there are more than my usual commenters anyway). Thanks for stopping by...

Access DENIED
If you are reading this now it should be because you have been specifically invited. That's right, no more open pages for the world to see. No more sending my thoughts into the universe like a bottle cast into the sea.

thanks for letting me on!!!
Woo hoo . . . made the cut. fabulous! I must say, i was always a little weirded out that I had no idea who was looking at my kids. I feel much better that I now have some sort of control. private blog is better.
oooo, how fun to be invited to something private!
(sorry it had to be through some silly bureaucracy, though...)
no worries there are alwasy those that find something wrong with something "fabulous"..thanks for inviting me to share in your blog.
Love,
Aunt Sandie
Since I am the cause of this privatization of her blog...I thought I would comment. Now that I am a physician it becomes increasing apparent how often patients use the internet to find out information. It is best that my personal information be kept private and I keep an extremely professional demeanor on the web...For those who know me that is quite hard. The hours thing is partially true - 80 hours in the hospital but many more hours preparing for next days operations...looking at approaches, anatomy, complications etc...furthermore sick patients are sick and need attention...there is no compromising on that one. I choose to be a physician because of the MONEY...NOT...because of the sheer pleasure of helping others in a personal way that many do not ever experience. To much trouble at work over this one...so here we are...welcome to my family and enjoy my wife's blog....she is awesome and deserves all the presents anyone can send her. I think this is much harder on her. I am at least going to work and cutting people open - not changing poopy diapers.
Keith
I had a similar situation back when I worked at the Heathman. Someone (not me) spilled the beans on their personal blog about a high-profile VIP staying there, yadda yadda, it became a problem. Looked bad on me, my employer, and could have been construed as grounds for termination. Thanks for the invite, though! Kristina has a blogger.com one going, check it out http://kristinaritzman.blogspot.com/.
Emily,
Although I have not read anything on your blog that I think should have caused Keith trouble at work, I do think that many people (especially of our generation and the one following us) have way too little interest in privacy. Please don't take that to mean any ill will towards you or your blog because most of your posts are innocent updates on Dakota and the like. But I admit that I have Googled prospective employees before and found more than one Facebook or blog that has caused me to not hire them. In fact, while we were looking for an Au Pair, I said no to 2 based solely upon things that they had written on blogs or facebook.
At the same time, I am so grateful that you take the time to post here. I have learned so much about you here and have grown to care so deaply about you, and this blog and your candor here have played a huge part in that. All in all, I think making it private is the best of both worlds and I'm grateful for the invite!
On a different note, I think we'll be seeing you in the desert next month!
i dig it. i'm thinking of going into the nether regions as well!
Em,
thanks for the invite, you know I would wither up and blow away without my Dakota and Neaman fam fix :)
As for the reason, I get it, but doesnt that suck? As if yiou cant be honest. UGH.

Been in and out of ER thrree times in 5 days. Brother. where he should be.
