That salsa's from Salt Lake City?

So here I go. I'm flying to SLC to meet Keith and drive home with him - Am I a good wife or what? I've missed him quite a bit actually so this should be fun if not horribly uncomfortable.
My dear sister-in-law LISA is in town and taking me to the airport in the morning with a breakfast stop at Noah's Bagels. So a big thank you to her :) *Please note that she has just started her own blog and I linked it in my index-->
She is a sweetheart and her mother just had uterus cancer surgery at St V., doing well now, and we wish you and your family well :)

I am flying SouthWest and being picked up by Keith's cousin Traci. First thing to do is go off to costco and get ready for the adult barbque party that we are aparently throwing for his family....
Flying back there always feels weird and eery to me. The last time I was there I was wipeing up my grandmothers blood off the floor where she was murdered. (sorry if that bothers tender souls). But it was my reality. It is where i spent my summers for a few years in my youth and where my mother's odd and mysterious life was half had. It is also first in line for possible new homes for us and our growing family for the next near decade! ouch. I am somewhat feelingless about this so far. It could be good, keith has friends, family, connections there. i dont. mine are all dead. but whatever right? I am a worrior woman and will deal best i can with what i get, smiling all the way.... What use is suffering I say.

Indignities

My poor little Monkey just got home from her spay surgery Monday. There were five babies inside of her this time and I try to remind myself "its just a cat, it's just a cat". But I have yucky mixed feelings about it. It would have been impossible to leave her or take her on my month rotation trip to California when she was to have them . And I never would be able to controll her taste for pussy (get it).
She is sleeping with me again and follows me everywhere i go now. Today she played for the first time...
She was tragically hillarious at first - so Loopy and unable to walk straight or keep her head up.
Keith will take her stitches out in 2 weeks. I'm a little worried about leaving her alone for 4 days with this silly thing around her neck. I Think that things will be much easier with her now that she's fixed.

Battle of Elbow Wills

The other day I went to the movies with my friend Sasha. We were the first ones in so we chose to sit in the middle of the middle (you know, right in front of the metal rails so we could put our feet up).

We waited there a while as people eventually began to stream in bit by bit - you know how it is.... We were eventually left with one empty chair on her side and two empty chairs on my side. The cinema wasnt very full, but we are in a popular section.

Finally, just as the movie starts 2 women point in our direction and ask for the seats next to me. I happily say "yes, they're free" and move my purse to let them in.

Now here's the thing. I am clearly well established and sitting there with my elbow on the armrest. It seems to me that I had the right of way regarding the armrest since afterall, I was there first. Clearly this woman was not versed in arm chair etiquette. She Plopped herself down and aggressively shrugged her arm on the rest touching my skin and nudgeing me off!

In shocked disbelief Sasha & I look at each other with mouths open. She generously suggested we switch chairs so I (the preg one) would be more comfortable. Tempted, I decline but thought about moving locations all together. In the end i choose to stick it out - for now.

An hour into the movie the woman next to me relinquishes her stance on the armrest - for a good 10 minutes mind you. I figure this is my chance. She obviouslly doesnt want it anymore. So I casually glide my elbow into place. Ah - now that feels good.

But no! As soon as she saw me there she whipped her arm back on in front of mine. Now Thats it! I think to myself. Two can play this game! So I held my ground and did not move my arm an inch. Eventually my arm went numb with pins & needles as it was squished into the back. THEN, she began to let her skin touch my skin!!!!!!! Yuck - stranger arm skin. But i didnt move. You want arm skin - I'll give you arm skin and then i moved forward touching her more. HA!

Eventually it worked. I WON Elbow chicken and the whole armrest all to myself for the last 20 minutes of the show.

I dont remember what we saw, but I do remember it had a great ending.

Steve's wife Kelli threw a great 30th Bday surprise party for him

I gave him a Rubix cube

Lots of different people were there
Thanks Sasha for being my date for the night!

For Keith to see...

A lot of wholes went into the mounting of this shelf.....
Then i didnt like it on the bare wall so I took it down and painted a strip of blue. I left the edges for later OR we could just leave it til we have to repaint again anyway....

I think i did a pretty go job at the straight line on bottom if i do say so myself :)

Have you ever cryed your eyes out and just kept brushing your teeth anyway?
Do me a favor if you see me sometime,
-Dont tell me my face looks fuller or puffy
-Dont point out to me that I've got the pregnant waddle down.
-Dont let your face look surprised and say "Wo, you sure are starting to show arent you" or laugh and say "that shirt barely fits you!"
-And please dont comment on everything you see on my plate
All this was enouph in one day especially after the doctor tells me that im 6 pounds over average at this stage and to slow down my gaining.
So thank you for all your comments - I've heard them
I know that too much salt will make me swell more and cause preclmapsia
I know that too much sugar will make me fatter and fatter and lead to diabetes
I know im only supposed to gain 2 pounds per week now
I know what I look like
I know I know I know!!!
So stop patting my belly
Stop asking what his name is
Stop all the well meaning advice
I am doing the best I can
and there is nothing else left.

Is it just the hormones?

If I were to draw my mood it might be this. I am careful not to share too much on my blog because of my unknown audience.
Today in Relief Society they talked of the importance of journal writing - which I don't do. This silly little blog is the closest thing to that I have. But I prefer a nice friendly PG site for public eyes.

Suffice it to say, this picture illustrates many qualities to me: Loneliness, Isolation, Unknown Future, Vastness, Withering Endurance, Thirst...

I'll place the specifics of my heart elswhere for now. And tomorow I'll be cheerfull once again.

Monkey trouble

This was so funny. I was enjoying a nice breakfast on my balcony, listening to the birds sing and watching my flowers grow when i start to notice my cat's meow in distress!
"Whats wrong monkey? Where are you?"
Hee hee
She was stuck up a tree.
Even if she is a little tramp, she does manage to amuse me still.

Skunk dinner at the Wright's

Tonite I had a yummy if not somewhat smelly dinner at James & Audrey's home
The yummy part was a fab creamy chicken pasta w/ fresh salad & garlic bread!

The smelly part was their new baby skunk "Lucy" (She isnt really smelly - that part was taken out - It's just somethin you say because it's a skunk)
Ah the sweet little family.....

Thank you for having me over and sharing your life with me :)
happy love etc etc

Gelato bust

thank goodness i didnt buy that stinkin ice cream maker that i couldnt afford anyway - and borrowed my neighbors instead

I had all the best intensions of making the best ever lowfat/sugarfree gelato EVER!
In the end I was only left with a glallon on crappy non-icecream down the drain.....
Such is the result it seems, of many of my great ambitions.

CampOut in Eastern Oregon

these are the only pictures i took on our trip. But i did get a good little documentary out of it on my camcorder instead...
His aunt had everything for us from t-shirts and gift bags (including sunblock, bug spray, and flash lights w/ batteries) to catered meals and organized events (like horseback riding, archery, flower arranging contests and much more. The 1st evenings surprise was a show of hawaiian firedancers

there was even a zipline from the woods over the lake. Keith & I enjoyed ourselves on the paddleboat (no pix) and 2 last nights together under the bright stars...

Green Pea Soup

This is our pool right now! Anyone daring enough for a dip in diarrea?

Im thinking of throwing a Pool Party
