Just a light dusting of snow

I often hear reference to the term "lake effect". Because of our location near lake Michigan, we here in Grand Rapids get especially dumped on all year. In fact, for my Oregon friends who tried to console me about my move to Michigan by saying at least you'll have sunnier weather, apparently didn't realize that this town actually has more overcast and gray gloomy days per year than Portland! and thats hard to beat.
