The orange Spring of night...
I like pumpkins.I really like costumes & dressing up & parties
I like kids & games & contests & candy
but I don't like Halloween anymore
and Im crossing my legs that my baby doesnt come out today...
I don't like gore
I don't like scary
I don't like death or the appearance of it
I don't like intent to cause fear
because i have experienced true gore & fear.
I have stared death in the ungly blue face
and wiped up it's murderous blood from the floor
I am learning to accept that some images will never leave my mind no matter how hard I try to force them out and that I can maturely acknowledge them and at least try to ignor them when moments in life spark them alive again.
I have learned to maintain composure in public when needed and to live my life "happy go lucky" as my mother's mother told me in her last words before her brutal death
I can freely cry and mourn again and again when alone and in the dark. I think it better to generally hide your tears and show off your smile (though that is not a modern/PC notion anymore)
So,
I appreciate the fun of Halloween.
The costumes
the parties, games, candy, and general silliness
and I take it no further - than the pumpkins....
Afterall
I just spent the last 3 days fighting back reliving the horror of my find five years ago
and celebrating the joys that this particular Autumn is blessing me with.
This particularlly beautiful
especially happy
most unscary week
that this time of year has yet bring....

Our trip to Target and back again.....
We were so excited to use our first day off together to buy our very own baby crib!
Keith used his big muscles to haul it up n'outI had been looking forward to this for weeks!

and it barely fit into our little Kia....
Together fussed and fiddled with it until it was finally upexcept
for the crappy drawer on bottom that never worked!Grrrrrrrrr

Boy was Keith mad when we had to take it all apart again and return the lousy thing :(
Still looking for a new Crib......

Man of the once a Year

Yay - Did I mention that my guy is finally home?
He's back from 7 weeks of rotations and 4 before that and now he's here to stay,
mostly
except for interview season when he flies in & out for a fews days at a time all over the country.... nine scheduled allready!
but I'm just going to enjoy him for now anyway.
Went to the Doc's today - Keith watched - all is just right they say
Had an ultrasound to make sure and registered early and St. Vincent's. Getting quite nervous.
Made Pumpkin bread this week with all Whole wheat and part Splenda. Tastes better the next day.
Having trouble uplaoding pictures and very frustrated!
Going to schedule some 'fat girl w/child' portraits now - wish me luck!

Fifth Edit....

Okay, this time Keith and I have collaborated and left on the list only the names that we both somewhat like... (some of my favorites fell off because he refused and vise versa)
This is not very easy to do when you have to agree with another person!
So, Starting again, Please submit your possitive votes only and/or new name suggestions...

3 - 7 weeks and counting.....

They say this is when you start to get extra anxious to be done with the pregnancy.
Today marks week 35!
I should expell between week 38 - 42 , thats normal. So in theory i could be less than a month away from motherhood (and a few less pounds too).
For now I am alternating between fatigued campouts in my bed and busy neurotic nesting. I am simply waiting
waiting for keith to come home
waiting for my next doctors appointment
waiting for the mail to come
waiting for something to download
waiting to give birth.

BIG BOYS

Tonight I was feeling somewhat festive so I put up my fall lights and cozied up with a mug of gormet hot chocolate.
Earlier today I had my doctor's appointment. Everything is fine etc etc.. but there was one thing that concerns me......
he told me that I'm going to have a Big Baby!
Ahhhhhhhhh! Ouch! "Are you sure?" i questioned him.... "well, at the rate you're going" he said.
Im getting another ultrasound in two weeks to measure him a little better.

Mini Pumpkin Day
Today I went to the pumpkin patch with a strict budget of $10- to spend on things to decorate with. I ended up with 15 mini pumpkins & gourds, 6 indian corns and a boquet of dried purple flowers. I also collected a huge bundle of green river reeds and dried thistle (for free)!
Isn't this time of year beautiful!

Of course I couldn't leave without a carmel treat - for the kid of course
.Here's a picture of chubby me. but hay! Im 8months prengnant! what can I say?
